Pilsen, New Jersey — New Jersey traded defenseman Jordan Clarkson and a conditional second-round pick to the Minnesota Wild for forward Ryan Carter and a third-round draft pick.
The Devils signed Carter, who had six goals and 17 points in 61 games with the team last season, to a two-year contract.
Clarkson, a three-time Stanley Cup champion, played for the Devils in the 2016-17 season.
The trade, first reported by ESPN, clears $1.3 million in salary cap space for New Jersey and sends defenseman Adam Larsson to the Wild for defenseman Zach Bogosian and a second-rounder.
Larsson, 24, played in five games for Minnesota in the 2017-18 season, with three goals and four assists.
He has seven goals and 22 points in 62 career games with Columbus, Nashville, New York Rangers and Washington.
